I love martial arts, and thus I practice them. Specifically, I practice Wingchun at Applied Wingchun under my Sifu, Duncun Leung (more information can be found about him in a simple Google search.). Sometimes, a couple of my friends and their families at Applied Wingchun will go out with Sifu on trips to a variety of different places for the purpose of demoing martial arts at the many talks Sifu is invited to. This time, we were invited to the American International School of Guangzhou (AISG).

The trip started after a usual Sunday afternoon training session, followed by dinner at Sifu's favorite restaurant. After all that, my family and another family of one of my friends from Applied Wingchun got into our cars with Sifu and drove to Guangzhou. Upon arrival, it wasalready very late, and so we just went to our hotel and crashed for the night. The next morning, all of us got up early in the morning and drove to AISG's primary school campus, where Sifu's first talk was going to be. After that, it was just a lot of going onstage and demoing, and teaching students basic moves from Wingchun.

AISG made a cool banner for Sifu.

After the talks and demos at AISG's primary school campus, we were once again on the road travelling towards AISG's midde and high school campus, where we taught, demoed, and explained Wingchun to older students after lunch with the headmaster.

Overall, it was a fun and interesting experience. It is always cool to spread te word about Wingchun and inspire others to learn this practical art. Teaching people who have no prior experience with martial arts also allowed me to improve my ways of teaching concepts to others, and also made me understand the concepts Sifu taught me even better as I had to think about them myself before simplifying them and explaining them to beginners. Meeting the headmaster of AISG was also very cool as he is a very knowledgeable and gentle man, and talking to him allowed me to further understand what education in America is like and what I might get to experience if I do indeed go boarding in America next year. Lastly, travelling with my family from Applied Wingchun is always cool, as the trips are fun and Sifu's stories about martial arts are always big treat to listen to.
